Sandanski is one of the best and internationally recognized Spa resorts in Bulgaria with its 6 hot mineral springs. It’s situated 160km southwest from Sofia.

BANKYA MINERAL BATHS

I want to tell you for the small prettiest town of Bankya in Bulgaria. It’s a world-famous spa resort, situated in the beautiful valley on the slopes of the Lyulin mountain, 17 km far west from Sofia. What best characterizes the town are the climate, the mineral waters, the well-organized sanatorium and resort accommodation, the highly skilled medical specialists, as well as the numerous patients that have recovered after cardiovascular disorders or insult.

• The Klisura Orthodox Monastery of St. Petka is situated between the village of Klisura and Bankya, near Sofia. The construction began in the 13th century and was mainly renovated in the 18th century. Most of the monastery is covered with exquisite frescoes made by modern artists.

Water is the source of life. It's a basic need for all living creatures. That's why it is impossible to live without water. All plants and animals must have water to survive.

That’s why,

I want to tell you about a place that has been blessed with multiple springs of mineral waters. It’s the Bulgarian land. Bulgaria is the second country in Europe after Iceland by the number of sources of mineral and spring water.

Bulgaria has about 600 operating deposits of mineral water and 1 600 springs, but only 30% of them are being used. The temperature is between (10°C - 103°C) with proven medicinal properties. The mineral spring comes from depth 400-1500m. 55% of the total flow is low alkaline water (pH 7.2 -8.2). 

There are more than 65 balneological resorts. Each resort has thermal springs with curative effects on various body organs and systems. Mineral waters are fit for human consumption. Most resorts are located in mountainous regions of Bulgaria and provide fresh air and perfect conditions for recovery.
